Technical Information

Free Software for Download

One of my lecturers at University, a lot of good material here. Enough for a good technical book perhaps Dr Jefferies?

An excellent  Windows version of the Numerical Electromagnetics Code (NEC2) by Arie Voors, a true philanthropist.

A really well thought out, schematic capture, S-parameter based circuit simulator by Stewart Hyde.

A very good, schematic capture, SPICE3 based circuit simulator by Linear Technology.

I have used all the software linked to below and found it to work very well.

No whizzy schematic capture here, the power of this version of SPICE is its scripting language, a very useful tool by Mike Smith.

A  wealth of useful information and links here, in English and French. It is worth brushing up your French just to see how to work at 300Ghz on a budget (Electro-forming your own waveguide).

A collection of really well presented course notes covering transmission lines, amplifiers, hybrids, couplers and splitters to name but a few. Just take a look, you won’t be disappointed !

A very comprehensive transmission line calculator from Rogers Corporation. Includes microstrip, stripline and coupled lines

A very comprehensive and clearly presented links and resources page.

An excellent way to learn the art of modelling 2D microwave structures, easy to use and the adaptive frequency sweep is very fast.

Quite Universal Circuit Simulator by Michael Margraf et al.

Blimey! Like the name says really - schematic capture, mixed mode SPICE and  TOUCHSTONE all rolled into one.
